After years of designing for giants like Fendi and Versace, he sought total creative autonomy, founding Nasomatto and Orto Parisi. His philosophy is one of subversive uniqueness; he famously keeps his formulas secret, believing that a fragrance should be experienced emotionally rather than analyzed technically.

From the dark, resinous cult-classic Black Afgano to the animalic explorations of Orto Parisi, Gualtieri’s work is characterized by extreme longevity, raw power, and a daring focus on the "human" and "earthy" side of existence.
