Founded in 1989, Maison NICOLAÏ represents a historic milestone in the world of haute parfumerie. Established by Patricia de Nicolaï—the direct heir to Pierre-François-Pascal Guerlain and the first female perfumer in the world to found her own independent house—the brand is an uncompromising celebration of creative freedom and olfactory excellence. Alongside her husband Jean-Louis Michau, Patricia laid the foundations for a visionary, family-run enterprise that remains entirely free from the constraints of market testing, guided solely by pure artistic intuition and a profound love for exceptional raw materials.

Today, joined by the next generation, Axel and Edwige Michau de Nicolaï, the house maintains absolute control over every stage of its creation. Operating from a private Parisian laboratory and a dedicated workshop in La Ferté-Saint-Aubin, NICOLAÏ preserves the authentic soul of French artisanal perfumery. Formulas are meticulously developed in-house, utilizing between 81.3% and 99.1% natural ingredients, free of added preservatives or colorants.
