Born in Germany, Ralf Schwieger studied chemistry before specializing in fragrance chemistry in Berlin and training at a perfumery school in Grasse. He views perfumery as both refined and playful, drawing inspiration from art, science, nature, cooking, contemporary dance, and Japanese design.

His creations include Thierry Mugler Womanity, Hermès Eau des Merveilles, Marc Jacobs Men, YSL Baby Doll, Naomi Campbell, David Yurman Summer Essence, and Frédéric Malle Lipstick Rose.
